Description
A drop-in anchor is a female concrete anchor that's used to permanently attach objects to concrete. They are designed to be installed into pre-drilled holes in concrete. How they work A drop-in anchor is inserted into a pre-drilled hole in concrete. A setting tool is used to expand the anchor within the hole. The anchor is tapped into place. A washer and nut are added, and torque is applied to the nut. Uses Drop-in anchors are used to install threaded rods or studs in concrete ceilings or slabs. They can be used to hang cable trays. Advantages Drop-in anchors are easy to install, requiring only a drill, blow out, hammer, and setting tool. They allow for small drill holes and low anchorage depth. The snug fit of the bolt in the hole provides additional strength.
